This 18 x 24 acrylic painting was created as a still life study at Johnson County Community College. For this project, we were asked to mimic the style of a famous artist, and I chose to paint in the style of Claude Monet. The piece features a combination of a quirky subject—a spider resting on a green bottle of pink socks—captured with soft brushstrokes and a loose, impressionistic style similar to Monet's. The use of vibrant color and layered textures mimics his approach, while still reflecting my own artistic interpretation of the subject. Completed April 2020
