"Ground Score" is an exploration of personal experience and movement through the lens of color and form, inspired by the vibrant energy of EDM concerts and the rhythm of the crowd. Created in April 2023 with oil paints that I mixed myself, this 20 x 22 piece captures my connection to the world around me, focusing on the perspective of my body in motion. The trippy, swirling patterns reflect the heightened sensory experiences that accompany live music, with the vibrant colors representing the electric atmosphere of the shows I attend. The hands and shoes in the foreground are symbols of my personal interaction with these immersive environments, creating a visual representation of the ecstatic energy I feel when immersed in the beat.
This piece is currently on loan at the Chancellor's Office for $500, and I expect to have it back in a few months.
