"I am my own" is part of a series I created in 2019, using ripped-out pages from Shel Silverstein's The Missing Piece as a base. The piece, measuring 6.5 x 8.5 inches, is made with acrylic and pen, featuring a solitary figure on the Great Wall of China with the phrase "I am my own" written above. This work reflects my journey of self-discovery and independence, symbolized by the vastness of the landscape and the figure’s confident stance. The piece combines the personal nature of the Silverstein text with my exploration of growth, self-reliance, and the courage to embrace one's path.
