This piece marks my first experience working with scratchboard, created for a drawing class at JCCC in September 2020. The artwork features a detailed portrait, showcasing the unique contrast and texture achievable through the scratchboard medium. It was a challenging yet rewarding process, allowing me to explore intricate line work and shading techniques, which helped me push my understanding of light, form, and texture.
